David de Gea – Couldn’t stop the only real chance Chelsea had, apart from that he was quiet. 6
Antonio Valencia – Did well down the right-hand side. 6
Chris Smalling – Kept the 37-year old Drogba quiet throughout. 7
Paddy McNair – Did well despite being largely untested. 7
Luke Shaw – Had a fantastic return to acton. Marauded down that left hand side and gave Chelsea real problems. 7
Wayne Rooney – Did ok, but as the game went on Chelsea began to work him out. 5
Marouane Fellaini – He struggled without the help of Rooney up top, was man-marked out of the game by Zouma. 5
Ander Herrera – Another top drawer midfield performance from the Spaniard. 7
Juan Mata – Had a quiet return to his former home ground. Got a great reception from the Chelsea faithful. 6
Ashley Young – Faded out as the game went on. Linked up well with Luke Shaw. 6
Radamel Falcao – Looked rusty, and could’ve been stronger for the Chelsea goal. Should’ve scored in the second half. 4
Subs:
Angel di Maria – Ran at the Chelsea back line. Lacking a final ball.
Adnan Januzaj – Didn’t do an awful lot.
Tyler Blackett – Not enough time to mark.
