Player Ratings: Crystal Palace 1-3 Man United – Lukaku back to form

David de Gea –  A relatively quiet afternoon for the Spaniard, although his distribution let him down at times. 5/10

Ashley Young – Scored the third goal to kill the game which made up for his error that let Palace score. A decent outing. 5/10

Chris Smalling – Solid. He’s beginning to form quite the partnership alongside Victor Lindelof. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Brilliant once again. His willingness to play out from the back is becoming a real asset. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Another super outing. He made the first goal with his willingness to run, while also remaining defensively solid throughout. 7/10

Scott McTominay – Very good. Protected the back four and showed a desire to move the team back in the right direction. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Not his usual, flashy, brilliant self, but instead he was calm composed and showed a real leadership. Did pick up an assist too. 6/10

Fred – Grew into it after a slow start, but I’m still not sure exactly what he does well… 5/10

Diogo Dalot – Out of position on the right-wing. He did alright, but you’re not expecting fireworks from him. 5/10

Alexis Sanchez – Worked hard but the final ball, pass or shot was lacking. 5/10

Romelu Lukaku – Brilliant. Scored two very different goals and on another day could have had a hat-trick. Great to see him back in the goals. 8/10

Subs:

Eric Bailly – Came on to secure the result.

Marcus Rashford – Nice to learn that he’s not struggling with injury. Looked bright.

James Garner – Congratulations to him on his debut!
