David de Gea – Made some fantastic saves to prevent Everton getting back into the match. 7/10

Matteo Darmian – Back to his best today. Steady, calm, composed and tough tackling. 7/10

Phil Jones – It was his first start of the season and he looked great next to Chris Smalling. 8/10

Marcos Rojo – Played brilliantly from minute one, and put in a fantastic ball for Ander Herrera’s goal. 8/10

Morgan Schneiderlin – Did the dirty work and controlled the midfield. Took his goal nicely. 8/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger – Calmness personified. He just kept things ticking over and had plenty of time on the ball. 7/10

Juan Mata – Fairly quiet despite United running rampant in the first 45. Subbed at half-time. 5/10

Ander Herrera – Wow. He brought some energy to the attacking midfielder role and scored a wonderful header. Was at the heart of everything good going forward. Man of the Match. 9/10

Anthony Martial – Unlucky not to get a goal for himself but once again played fantastically. 7/10

Wayne Rooney – Took his goal nicely, but once again that was about it from the captain. 6/10

Subs:

Jesse Lingard – Looked bright. Worried the Everton defence.

Marouane Fellaini – Kept it simple and saw the game out.

Michael Carrick – Brought some extra legs to the midfield.
