Player Ratings: Everton 1-2 Manchester United – Fantastic Fellaini

David de Gea – Made an outstanding penalty save to keep United in front at the time. Plenty of heroics in the second half too. 9/10

Timothy Fosu-Mensah – Looked nervy at times, but improved as the game went on. Subbed off for his own good. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Defended like a warrior, but conceded an own goal which could have been avoided. 6/10

Daley Blind – Such an excellent reader of the game, but struggled with Lukaku’s physicality at times. 6/10

Marcos Rojo – Struggled when Deulofeu came on, and arguably could have done more for Everton’s leveller. 5/10

Marouane Fellaini – Played his heart out. Scored a brilliant goal, made an excellent last-ditch block and was unlucky to be subbed off. Man of the Match. 9/10

Michael Carrick – Started brightly but when Everton gained in confidence he struggled. 5/10

Wayne Rooney – Pulled the strings throughout. Sprayed passes everywhere and really dragged United through. 8/10

Jesse Lingard – Had an excellent first half but should have had a couple of goals. Struggled in the second. 4/10

Anthony Martial – What a man. Scored the winner with an unbelievable finish and ran Everton ragged throughout. 9/10

Marcus Rashford – Gave Everton a torrid time. Linked up with his teammates excellently with some nice flicks and touches. 7/10

Subs:

Antonio Valencia – Worked tirelessly down the right. Did well.

Ander Herrera – Worked hard to grab the assist for Martial’s winner.
