David de Gea – Same old story. Couldn’t do anything about either goal, but made some super stops to ensure the scoreline wasn’t embarrassing. 6/10
Chris Smalling – Clearly not a right-back. Lacked the pace to deal with the Everton counter attack. Should’ve scored late on. 4/10
Phil Jones – Had a shocker. At fault for both Everton goals and struggled with Lukaku’s physical presence all afternoon. 2/10
Jonny Evans – His first match in 14 games and it showed. His match sharpness wasn’t up to scratch, but did a much better job than his defensive partner. 5/10
Alex Buttner – Played Mirallas onside for Everton’s second, and couldn’t deal with the threat of Coleman. 3/10
Michael Carrick – Couldn’t get a hold of the midfield. Couldn’t pick a penetrative pass. 4/10
Darren Fletcher – Offered nothing. Very immobile, no imagination and couldn’t keep up with the speed of the game. 4/10
Nani – Looked unfit as you’d expect. Didn’t get on the ball enough to affect the game. 5/10
Juan Mata – Played some nice little passes but didn’t create an awful lot. Gave the ball away far too often. 4/10
Shinji Kagawa – Had the first shot at the Everton goal midway through the second half. Didn’t look comfortable with the threat of Coleman. 3/10
Wayne Rooney – Shocking from our captain. He was playing as the lone striker but was everywhere but up front. Looked scared to shoot, his passing was wayward and lost possession far too easily. 2/10
Subs:
Javier Hernandez – Looked lively, didn’t do an awful lot though. 5/10
Antonio Valencia – Came on at right-back. Created nothing. 4/10
Danny Welbeck – Not enough time to mark.

There is no way Mata deserved a higher rating than Kagawa.
Far too harsh scores.
We were unlucky. Again.
Moyes doesn’t know how we lost. Again.
The joke is well past it’s sell by date.
As is Moyes’s clueless, leaderless, unmotivated, out-classed crap being served up.
Look what’s happened in 8 months.
Give this guy another year they say?….Jesus.
Disgrace. Both the performance and these ratings.
What does De Gea need to so to get less than 6/10?! He was rubbish. Distribution poor and should have saved both goals. Why on earth do people always say he couldn’t have done anything about the goals? His job is to save shots, yet he doesn’t move for most goals he concedes and he fails to save a penalty that went right down the middle, awful. One good save and you act like he was amazing. Begovic, Marshall, Speroni, Form etc make countless great saves for low league teams, why can’t De Gea do these? Basically the only time he gets a clean sheet is when the opposition don’t take many shots. He’s the most overrated player in the league by a mile.
Büttner was ok but at fault for the second goal. Felt sorry for Jones for the slip but he was heavily at fault for both goals. Evans was our best player. Smalling was bad as usual. Nani was dreadful, I like him but that was dire. Carrick and Fletcher do nothing, it’s one of the least effective midfield duos in the league. Bring back Ando tbh, at least he moves the ball forward. Kagawa was eager as always but didn’t produce as we’re used to. Mata was disappointing too and he lost the ball which lead to the second goal. Rooney looked lost and unfit.
Dreadful performance. We need to get rid of Smalling, Fletcher, Cleverley, Young and Nani. I’d also like a keeps like Begovic to come in and play a few games. He’s better than DG.
