David de Gea – Made a couple of decent saves, but only ones you’d expect him to make. Had an easy afternoon. 6/10
Antonio Valencia – Offered himself as an outlet down that right-hand side all afternoon. Defended well. 5/10
Phil Jones – Wasn’t fully fit at kick-off but he was superb. Didn’t give the makeshift Palace attack a sniff of an opportunity. 7/10
Chris Smalling – Nice to see him back into the starting line-up. He played well. 6/10
Ashley Young – Filled in at left-back once again and he was wonderful. His crosses into the box are sublime, and he delivered a peach into Fellaini for his first. 7/10
Nemanja Matic – Played a few wayward passes but defensively he was just as solid as you’d expect. 6/10
Marouane Fellaini – What a transformation. He scored two goals and absolutely bossed the middle of the park. 8/10
Juan Mata – Scored his first goal of the season and repaid the faith that Mourinho has put in him. He linked up the play excellently. 7/10
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Not his best day. Just never got into the game and was rightfully subbed midway through the second 45. 4/10
Marcus Rashford – Made a stunning move and put in a wonderful ball to Juan Mata. Drifted in and out of the match after that. 6/10
Romelu Lukaku – Had a quiet game on the whole, but eventually got his goal late on with a real poachers finish. 6/10
Subs:
Jesse Lingard – Looked lively, tried things, but more often than not they didn’t come off.
Ander Herrera – Brought some energy to the middle of the park to sure things up.
Anthony Martial – As per usual he came off the bench and picked up yet another assist.
