Player Ratings: Garbage Man United get battered by 3-1 by Liverpool

David de Gea – Beaten by two deflections and one bit of brilliance. An unfortunate afternoon for him. 5/10

Diogo Dalot – Grew into the game as the first-half wore on. Unfortunate to be subbed at half-time. 5/10

Eric Bailly – Threw his body on the line on more than one occasion. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Good to have him back. I actually thought he dealt with Firmino relatively well. 5/10

Matteo Darmian – He’s just too slow and positionally unaware. I’d also like to see more composure when he’s on the ball. 4/10

Ashley Young – Not his finest afternoon. He got done by Mane for the opener and was ineffective in attack. He just looked way off the pace. 2/10

Nemanja Matic – I’m just not sure what he brings to the table. He’s not mobile enough for the modern-day game, almost becoming a bystander at times. 4/10

Ander Herrera – Tried to be his usual, busy self, but he was sloppy on the ball, and struggled with Liverpool’s movement when defending. 3/10

Jesse Lingard – Scored United’s goal, but was largely ineffective. He wasn’t making those darting runs that we’ve come to expect. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Worked hard, tracked back, tried to make things happen. It’s tough sledding for the wingers in games like these. 4/10

Romelu Lukaku – Slow and sluggish. The ball bounced off him at times, and he didn’t do enough to bring his teammates into play. With that said, he didn’t have many runners around him. 3/10
