Player Ratings: Liverpool 0-1 Manchester United – Lingard poor

David de Gea – What a performance from the Spaniard. He made some outstanding saves to help United to victory. 8/10

Matteo Darmian – Looked poor at left-back and gave Liverpool way too much space. Much better on the right. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Once again another commanding performance from the centre-half. Superb. 7/10

Daley Blind – Did well against the extremely talented Roberto Firmino. 6/10

Ashley Young – Subbed early due to injury. 6/10

Morgan Schneiderlin – Protected the back four extremely well. I’d still like to see a bit more of an attacking threat from him though. 6/10

Marouane Fellaini – Started poorly but grew into the game. Played some nice passes, won plenty of headers and hit the bar leading up to Rooney’s goal. 6/10

Jesse Lingard – Very quiet. Couldn’t get past his man at all, and rightfully subbed in the second half. 4/10

Ander Herrera – Not his finest game in a United shirt. Drifted in and out of the action. 5/10

Anthony Martial – His pace gave Liverpool nightmares all game. What a player. 7/10

Wayne Rooney – Didn’t get all that involved, but took his chance when it matters. 7/10

Subs:

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson – Did extremely well for a young man in a high pressure game.

Juan Mata – Came on and linked the play up nicely.

Memphis Depay – Not enough time to mark.
