David de Gea – Did well. Arguably could’ve done better for the Sturridge goal but on the whole he’ll be pleased. 7/10
Antonio Valencia – Looked solid defensively minus a small mishap early on. Grew in confidence as the game progressed. 7/10
Phil Jones – Perhaps lucky to stay on the pitch. That aside he was very good. 6/10
Chris Smalling – Looked solid. Did a superb job in defending the threat of a speedy Daniel Sturridge. 6/10
Daley Blind – Won a late penalty. Made Emre Can look silly and made some key interceptions. Top performance. 8/10
Michael Carrick – Kept the ball moving. Was careless in possession on occasion though. 5/10
Ander Herrera – Pinpoint pass for the first goal. Another excellent display from the midfielder. 7/10
Marouane Fellaini – Won plenty of aerial duels, and was surprisingly good with his passing. 6/10
Juan Mata – What a day for Mata. Scored two wonderful goals and labelled it his best performance in a Manchester United shirt. Man of the Match. 10/10
Ashley Young – Was fairly quiet. Subbed off with an injury 55 minutes in. 5/10
Wayne Rooney – Saw his late penalty saved, but as you’d expect he worked hard and didn’t stop running. 6/10
Subs:
Marcos Rojo – Not enough time to mark.
Angel di Maria – Played well when he came on and claimed a superb assist.
Radamel Falcao – Not enough time to mark.
