Player Ratings: Magnificent Martial as Man United beat Everton 2-1

David de Gea – Made a couple of smart saves. 5/10

Ashley Young – Did ok. Got a round of applause when he went in on Bernard with a crunching tackle. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Commanded the back line relatively well for the most part. However, why he went diving in on Richarlison I’ll never know… 4/10

Victor Lindelof – Another good afternoon for the Ice Man. His reading of the game is exceptional. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Pretty solid defensively. One of his quieter afternoons when trying to get forward, though. 5/10

Nemanja Matic – Average again. I just feel like Matic looks a bit tired at the moment and perhaps he needs a rest. 4/10

Paul Pogba – The Frenchman was class for the most part. He controlled the game with his passing, strength and on-ball ability. However, once again, his carelessness led to their penalty. 6/10

Fred – Brought some movement, calmness and directness to the midfield. He was pretty good. 5/10

Juan Mata – Not bad, but didn’t really create an awful lot. He’ll keep his place in the team, though. 5/10

Anthony Martial – Scored an absolute pearler to make it 2-0. The man is on fire at the moment and is by far our biggest threat. 8/10

Marcus Rashford – It wasn’t his finest outing but at least his pace gives us the ability to stretch the opposing defence. 5/10

Subs:

Romelu Lukaku – I love Romelu, but when he came on, the game was different, and not in a good way…

Ander Herrera – Nice to see him back involved.
