Sergio Romero – Had a relatively quiet night, but it was good to see him back in between the sticks. 5/10
Diogo Dalot – Bombed up and down that right-flank all evening. Won tackles and read the play well. If only his final ball was more accurate… 6/10
Axel Tuanzebe – Absolutely brilliant. The centre-half was strong, composed and mightily impressive throughout. 8/10
Phil Jones – His first start of the season, and it went ok. He actually tried to drive the team forward and get United moving further afield. 6/10
Marcos Rojo – Looked like he really enjoyed himself out there. Played well from the left-back slot. Was unlucky with a blistering effort from about 35-40 yards out. 6/10
Nemanja Matic – Was handed the captain’s armband and protected the back four well. 6/10
Fred – Kept things ticking over nicely, but you sometimes worry about his passing as he’s always got a big mistake in him. 6/10
Tahith Chong – Average. For me, he’s better from off the right but you can see that he has it in his locker to go an awfully long way in this game. 5/10
Angel Gomes – Drifted in and out of the game, like most players on the field in Red. 5/10
Mason Greenwood – Won the game with a bit of individual brilliance. The future is now for Greenwood. 6/10
Marcus Rashford – Made some great runs into the penalty area, but you expect better finishing from a player with his experience. 5/10
Subs:
Juan Mata – Kept things ticking over but didn’t really get into the game.
Jesse Lingard – Struck the post late on with a wicked effort.
Ashley Young – Not enough time to mark.
