Player Ratings: Man United 1-0 Leicester City (Premier League 2019)

David de Gea – Not tested. Average distribution, but did nothing wrong. 5/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Top quality. What a signing this young man has been. He has given us defensive solidity on the right-hand side. 7/10

Victor Lindelof – Not too bad. Dealt with Jamie Vardy well. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Played well against his old team. Won headers galore and led from the back. 6/10

Ashley Young – As a left-back you know what you’re going to get. Solid defensively, limited going forward. 5/10

Nemanja Matic – Not bad. Dealt with Youri Tielemans and James Maddison well. Did an excellent job for his first start of the season. 6/10

Scott McTominay – Outstanding. Comfortably United’s best midfielder who put in a workmanlike effort to keep things ticking over. 7/10

Andreas Pereira – Not great. He’s just an average midfielder who can keep things ticking over, but won’t do anything spectacular. 5/10

Juan Mata – Rather quiet. He played some nice passes in between the lines and was rightfully subbed off after an hour. 5/10

Daniel James – Put in a real shift from the left-wing position. Played some good balls into the box. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Worked hard. Didn’t get a sniff of a chance. Took his penalty well. 6/10

Subs:

Tahith Chong – Looked lively. You feel he needs to put on some weight to be a real force, but the effort was there.

Fred – Pretty good. Kept things ticking over nicely.

Axel Tuanzebe – Not enough time to mark.
