David de Gea – Made an excellent double save towards the end of the first half. Controlled his penalty area well. 6/10
Ashley Young – He was ok, but somewhat predictable when going forward. Hopefully, Aaron Wan-Bissaka isn’t out injured for too long. 5/10
Victor Lindelof – Looked shaky in possession at times. I’d like to see him drive forward with the ball more. 4/10
Harry Maguire – Saw a cracking effort saved by Leno. Played his man onside for the Arsenal leveller. A real mixed bag. 4/10
Axel Tuanzebe – Promising, particularly for a young kid playing out of position in his first Premier League start for United this season. His costly cross-field ball marred an excellent night. 5/10
Scott McTominay – Easily United’s best player. He kept things ticking over nicely but did a solid job. Won tackles, made interceptions and scored an absolute corker to give his team the lead. 8/10
Paul Pogba – Sat too deep which minimises his effectiveness. There’s no in-between with him. Sometimes he’s super, others he’s poor. Tonight was a bit of both, but mostly the latter… 4/10
Jesse Lingard – Didn’t get involved in the play anywhere near enough for someone expected to create openings and carve out chances. 3/10
Andreas Pereira – One of his better outings. Showed some bursting runs forward that threatened the Arsenal defence. 5/10
Daniel James – United’s biggest threat due to his sheer pace. This lad has potential to go an awfully long way in this game. 6/10
Marcus Rashford – Looked exhausted, injured and low on confidence. We need Anthony Marial back to give Rashford a rest. 3/10
Subs:
Fred – Looked lively when he came on.
Mason Greenwood – Didn’t really get into the game.
