Sergio Romero – The Argentine didn’t really have an awful lot to do. Distributed well though. 6/10
Timothy Fosu-Mensah – Played superbly. He kept Bale pretty quiet due to his pace and physicality. Sent out a message to manager Mourinho. 7/10
Phil Jones – Defended wonderfully to deny Madrid. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start that first league game against West Ham. 7/10
Eric Bailly – He was superb. Bailly kept Benzema quiet and wasn’t afraid to put his body on the line. 7/10
Matteo Darmian – He’s naturally right-sided but Mourinho hasn’t shied away from playing him as the left-back. He did alright. 6/10
Michael Carrick – Misplaced a few passes but marshalled the game well from the holding midfield role. 6/10
Marouane Fellaini – Average. His passing range isn’t all that good but he put in a decent performance. 5/10
Andreas Pereira – Nice to see him get a start. Played some nice little passes and got involved. 6/10
Jesse Lingard – Got the goal to continue what has been a brilliant tour so far. Worked hard for his teammates and created the chances. 6/10
Anthony Martial – The run he went on for Lingard’s opener was just insane. He was a real threat throughout. 7/10
Marcus Rashford – Made some excellent runs which opened up the space for his teammates. 6/10
Subs:
David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about the Madrid penalty. Made a couple of smart saves though. 6/10
Daley Blind – Played some nice passes forward, but just isn’t a natural wing-back. 5/10
Chris Smalling – Didn’t really have an awful lot to do. When called upon though, he did ok. 5/10
Victor Lindelof – Gave away a daft penalty which gave Madrid a way back into the game. He hasn’t covered himself in glory on tour. 4/10
Paul Pogba – Drifted in and out of the game really. 5/10
Ander Herrera – No sooner had he come on, he was subbed off due to a rib injury.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Was unusually sloppy in possession today. 5/10
Romelu Lukaku – Didn’t get involved all that often as Madrid were the dominant side in the second 45. 5/10
Scott McTominay – Played very well considering his age. He picked the right passes and didn’t mind going forward and getting into the box. 6/10
Antonio Valencia – As per usual he bombed up and down that right-hand side all game. 6/10
