Player Ratings: Man United 1-1 Rochdale (United win 5-3 on pens)

Image via: Max Pixel

Sergio Romero – Had a rather quiet outing, but couldn’ do anything about the Rochdale equaliser. 5/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Made an unbelievable goalline clearance with the score at 0-0, but I’d have liked to have seen him get forward more. 5/10

Axel Tuanzebe – Captained United and led by example. Hardly put a foot wrong. For me, he has to start against Arsenal on Monday. 8/10

Phil Jones – Came off at half-time due to an injury. He was typically awful during the first 45. 3/10

Marcos Rojo – Should have converted at least one of his many chances. Was alright. 5/10

Fred – Sloppy. Careless and largely ineffective. He did score his penalty, though. 3/10

Paul Pogba – Missed an absolute gimme, though it’s nice to have him back… 4/10

Jesse Lingard – Picked up an assist but he wasn’t good. At all. 4/10

Andreas Pereira – Why he keeps being picked absolutely baffles me. Periera is nowhere near good enough to play for a side of United’s stature. 3/10

Tahith Chong – I’m quickly losing confidence in the young man. He looked a little out of his depth. 4/10

Mason Greenwood – An absolute superstar. Took his goal wonderfully well, comfortably United’s best forward. 7/10

Subs:

Brandon Williams – Played his part in the United goal.

Daniel James – Made an impact and scored his penalty.

Juan Mata – Tucked away his spot-kick.
