Player Ratings: Man United 4-0 AZ Alkmaar (Europa Leauge, 2019)

Sergio Romero – Pretty quiet after some early-game nerves. Our Argentine rarely lets us down. 6/10

Ashley Young – Average for the most part, though his goal to get United on their way was an absolute beauty. 7/10

Axel Tuanzebe – Nice to see him back in action. Coasted through the game but was solid. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Commanded the back four nicely. Made a couple of decent blocks and tackles. 6/10

Brandon Williams – Very impressive. he’s so calm in possession and never shirks a tackle. Has a bright future if he keeps developing. 7/10

Nemanja Matic – Marshalled the midfield astutely in his first game back following injury. Gives Solskjaer another good option. 6/10

James Garner – Took the safe option in the first 45, but burst into life in the second as he started spraying passes across the field and won some key tackles. Excellent. 7/10

Andreas Pereira – Certainly one of his better United games. Showed an incredible bit of individual skill during United’s opener and bombed forward where possible. 7/10

Juan Mata – Nice to see him involved. played some nice, clever passes forward and scored his penalty. A decent outing. 7/10

Mason Greenwood – My word, this lad can play. Two wonderfully taken goals killed the game for the Red Devils. Give this man a chance and he’ll take it. Absolutely lethal. 9/10. Man of the Match.

Anthony Martial – A relatively quiet hour, though those all-important fitness levels will have certainly rose which is always good. 5/10

Subs:

Tahith Chong – Tried to make things happen but it didn’t really come off.

Phil Jones – Shored up the defence.

Ethan Laird – Nice to see him back in action. Booked.
