David de Gea – Didn’t really have too much to do. 5/10
Ashley Young – Played well at right-back. Dealt with what was thrown out him defensively and tried to get forward far more than we’ve seen over the last few years. 6/10
Phil Jones – Looked calm, composed and largely unthreatened. A confident display that showed leadership and organisation. Brilliant. 7/10
Victor Lindelof – Outstanding. Didn’t put a foot wrong and was given a licence to get forward and join in on the attack. 8/10
Luke Shaw – Good to see him back involved and looked like he hadn’t missed a beat. 6/10
Nemanja Matic – He actually passed it forward on some occasions, while also looking much more solid when protecting his defenders. 6/10
Ander Herrera – Scored a deflection, but under Mourinho, he doesn’t take that shot. His passing was sloppy at times, but overall, it was a good outing for our Basque-born midfielder. 6/10
Paul Pogba – Started slowly. Improved massively as the match went on, a real message was sent out from the Frenchman yesterday, so let’s hope he can improve on that. 7/10
Jesse Lingard – Stunning. He was allowed freedom to roam and it paid off. He created chances, won a penalty and scored a lovely goal. It was exactly like the Lingard we see for England. More of the same
Anthony Martial – The goal he scored. Wow. Quick passing, movement, teamwork, slickness. He epitomised everything good about our play. We’re lucky to have him. 8/10
Marcus Rashford – Scored a scintillating free-kick to get United on their way. From
