Player Ratings: Man United ease past Reading, earn place in FA Cup 4th round

Sergio Romero – Made a few smart saves to preserve his clean sheet. Romero is always reliable and today was no different. 7/10

Diogo Dalot – Nice to see him back in action. You can tell that he’s nowhere near the finished article and he will need time. 5/10

Phil Jones – Pretty good. Dealt with everything that was thrown at him and took control of the back four. 7/10

Matteo Darmian – Out of position at centre-back, but actually did well. His reading of the game makes up for his lack of pace. 6/10

Andreas Pereira – We all want him to succeed, but he’s just not that good… His passing was wayward, he gave the ball up too often and struggled to get into it. 4/10

Scott McTominay – It sounds harsh, but what does he do? What’s his job? I feel like this is United trying to force an academy product through. 4/10

Fred – Looking nothing like a £50million player. Sloppy, off the pace, slow. Not good enough. 3/10

Juan Mata – Tucked his penalty away nicely, but that was about it. 5/10

Alexis Sanchez – Looked bright and sharp, played a delightful pass into Lukaku for the all-important second goal. Hopefully, his injury isn’t serious. 6/10

Romelu Lukaku – Scored the second to seal the game, but he had a relatively quiet afternoon. 5/10

Subs:

Tahith Chong – Nice to see youth given a chance. He did ok.

Marouane Fellaini –Threw his weight around as per usual.

Marcus Rashford – Didn’t really get into the game.
