David de Gea – Made a couple of big saves, but his throw out led to West Ham’s equaliser. 5/10
Diogo Dalot – Pretty average. Lucky to get away with an offside goal in the first 45. His delivery always looked threatening, though. 5/10
Chris Smalling – Had a solid outing. Dealt with Chicharito well and controlled the back line. 6/10
Phil Jones – Pretty average really. Was involved in a bloody bust-up but he didn’t let that play on his mind. 5/10
Marcos Rojo – A rare start for the Argentine. He did okay defensively but was nowhere near good enough when United were going forward. 4/10
Fred – Played a few errant passes but on the whole, it was a positive performance from a player who is growing in confidence. 6/10
Paul Pogba – Took his two penalties wonderfully well, but he wasn’t brilliant from open play. We’ll need to see more from him against Barcelona. 7/10
Juan Mata – Not good enough. Drifted in and out of the game but you want to see more creativity and industry from a player so talented. 4/10
Jesse Lingard – Disappointing. Rarely got on the ball and the runs he made weren’t anywhere near his usual standard. 3/10
Anthony Martial – Won the second penalty but rarely threatened. His problem has always been inconsistency and that was the case again this evening. 4/10
Romelu Lukaku – The ball bounced off him on and he couldn’t keep possession and bring others into the match. Not good enough. 4/10
Subs:
Marcus Rashford – Didn’t really get into the game.
Mason Greenwood – Nice to see Solskjaer give youth a chance.
Andreas Pereira – Not enough time to mark.
