Player Ratings: Man United embarrassed, disastrous Darmian, disinterested Rashford

Sergio Romero – Looked nervy from minute one and almost made a few howlers. 4/10

Matteo Darmian – Shocking. He’s so slow and unaware of any danger. Awful, awful footballer. 2/10

Victor Lindelof – The best of a bad bunch at the back. 5/10

Marcos Rojo – Positionally he was woeful at times. Dominant in the air, though. 5/10

Luke Shaw – Looked great going forward. I fear that we’ll see less of him now that we’re out, which is a shame. 5/10

Daley Blind – Slow, lightweight and poor on the ball. 3/10

Paul Pogba – The only player who seemed to want it. Fought for every ball, tried the difficult pass and never gave up. 6/10

Scott McTominay – Lacked the cutting edge when in possession. That’ll come with time, though. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Didn’t look up for it. Gave possession away far too cheaply, went to ground too easily and eventually allowed himself to get frustrated. 3/10

Anthony Martial – See Rashford. 3/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Scored an excellent free-kick, but he was bang-average putting that aside. 4/10

Subs:

Romelu Lukaku – Had a couple of half-chances.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Looked lively and carved a few openings.
