David de Gea – I’m not going to fault him for Wolves’ opener, but for their second, why can’t he just come and claim that? Not good enough. 4/10
Ashley Young – Just disastrous. Picked up two quick-fire yellow cards leaving his teammates in the lurch for over 30 minutes. That’s not what you want from your captain. 3/10
Chris Smalling – After a few good games, the Smalling we know and love (or hate) is now back. He’s just not cut out for this level and I’ve got no idea what he was thinking for Wolves’ winner.
Victor Lindelof – Was okay until the pressure started to mount, then the ‘Ice Man’ began to melt. 5/10
Luke Shaw – Once again, the only United defender to come out of the game with any credit. He was solid in defence and tried to make things happen when going forward. 6/10
Scott McTominay – Easily United’s best player. Scored a cracker to set United on their way, made some great runs into the box and also helped out when Wolves were on the attack. 8/10
Paul Pogba – I just don’t know what to say about him anymore. He’s either great or woeful, tonight was the latter. Do you seriously think Real Madrid would want him based on recent displays? I’m thinking not… 4/10
Fred – Ironically, he was up there amongst United’s best performers until his mistake. It’s a shame because he always seems hungry for the ball and tries to make things happen. I think he has a future at this club, but tonight was not his night. 3/10
Jesse Lingard – Drifted in and out of the game. Didn’t make anywhere near the required impact. 4/10
Diogo Dalot – Played some menacing balls into the box and once again showed plenty of promise. 5/10
Romelu Lukaku – Should have scored early. Wasn’t involved at all in the second 45. 4/10
Subs:
Phil Jones – Came on and only made the defence look even shakier.
Anthony Martial – Didn’t get involved in the game.
Andreas Pereira – Not enough time to mark.
