Player Ratings: Man United outclassed by PSG, Herrera the standout

Image Via: Wikipedia.

David de Gea – Was relatively quiet until PSG’s 7-minute double-salvo… 5/10

Ashley Young – Struggled with the pace of the game as the match wore on. His crossing was poor. 4/10

Victor Lidelof – Solid for the most part, but Mbappe did sprint past him with ease for their second. 5/10

Eric Bailly – Pretty much the same as Lindelof. 5/10

Luke Shaw – As this season has gone on, his performance levels have dropped. Positionally I have major concerns about Shaw. 3/10

Nemanja Matic – He was on Kimpembe for PSG’s opener and in possession, he struggled. 3/10

Ander Herrera – Comfortably United’s best. He didn’t deserve to be on the losing side due to his energy, forward-passing and overall willingness to win. 7/10

Paul Pogba – Made one great run, but that was it. He was man-marked out of the game and cut a frustrated figure throughout. Sent off. Will miss the second leg. 4/10

Jesse Lingard – His pace and movement allowed him to get in behind PSG’s defence. The game changed when he went off injured. 5/10

Anthony Martial – Just didn’t look like his usual self. Perhaps he was carrying a small problem before kick-off as he was subbed off with an injury too… 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Isolated. It’s tough when you’re up there on your own, but he has to do more 4/10

Alexis Sanchez – Just woeful.

Juan Mata – Tried to create openings but nothing was working.

Romelu Lukaku – Barely enough time to mark.
