Chris Smalling – Bossed Wilfried Bony, didn’t give him an inch. 7/10

Phil Jones – Looked solid alongside Smalling. Forming a nice partnership. 7/10

Marcos Rojo – Had Kevin de Bruyne in his back pocket from the first minute. Man of the Match. 8/10

Morgan Schneiderlin – Did the dirty job superbly. Mopped up and won the ball plenty of times. 7/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger – Controlled the middle of the park. 7/10

Juan Mata – Linked up nicely with Herrera. Needed more penetration though. 5/10

Ander Herrera – Kept busy and looked a threat but didn’t have much help. 6/10

Anthony Martial – Gave the City defenders a torrid time and drew a couple of bookings. 6/10

Wayne Rooney – Woeful. I wonder how long it’ll be before Van Gaal decides to drop him. 2/10
