Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle

Sergio Romero – Didn’t have an awful lot to do once again. 6/10

Matteo Darmian – Continued his fine form. Buccaneered up the right flank all-game long. 7/10

Chris Smalling – Played well once again. Didn’t give the Newcastle strikers a sniff. 8/10

Daley Blind – Played the ball out from the back nicely. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Bombed forward wherever possible. Forming a nice partnership with Depay. 7/10

Morgan Schneiderlin – Controlled the midfield. Could do with more going forward though. 6/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger – Bossed it but didn’t really threaten. 6/10

Juan Mata – Took some nice touches and made some nice passes. 6/10

Adnan Januzaj – Looked good for half an hour but struggled thereafter. 5/10

Memphis Depay – Disappointing. Looked as though he was trying too hard. 4/10

Wayne Rooney – Poor albeit scoring a goal that should’ve been onside. Lacked any kind of first touch and couldn’t hold the ball up. 4/10

Subs:

Michael Carrick – Much better display but couldn’t force a goal.

Javier Hernandez – Looked lively.

Antonio Valencia – Not enough time to mark.
