Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-3 Spurs – Pogba fails to impress

David de Gea – Looked shaky at times. His distribution was awful, too… 4/10

Antonio Valencia – Nice to have him back, but struggled, particularly in an offensive capacity. 3/10

Chris Smalling – Started well, but got worse as the game went on. Summed up perfectly as he lost his footing to allow Lucas Moura to go through and make it 3-0… 3/10

Phil Jones – Left the game injured in the second-half. Won some headers, put his body on the line, but didn’t really stand out. 4/10

Luke Shaw – The only player to walk away from tonight with any credit. He worked his socks off for 90 minutes on both sides of the ball. He did not deserve to be on the losing team. 6/10

Nemanja Matic – Good to have him back. 5/10

Ander Herrera –  Dropped so deep he was playing centre-half at times. Didn’t really impact the game, though. 4/10

Paul Pogba – You expect better. Wayward passing, nonchalant when in possession. Just didn’t look interested. 3/10

Fred – Started well, looked lively. Struggled massively when United were under pressure, though. 4/10

Jesse Lingard – Worked hard, looked lively, but when it mattered most he couldn’t pick out that killer ball or hit the target with a shot… 4/10

Romelu Lukaku – Rounded the keeper but couldn’t finish it off. Missed a header from point-blank range. Not a good day at the office… 3/10

Subs:

Marouane Fellaini – Probably our best player when he came on… That sums it up.

Victor Lindelof – Nervous wreck. Honestly, how do you go from having such a good World Cup to playing so badly?

Alexis Sanchez – Didn’t do anything. It’s as simple as that.
