David de Gea – Made a couple of decent saves, but commanded his box well and got United on the attack quickly. 7/10
Matteo Darmian – He was steady throughout. Offered himself as an outlet going forward too. 6/10
Chris Smalling – Played superbly throughout. Didn’t give the Everton attackers a sniff. 8/10
Daley Blind – What a performance. Bossed Romelu Lukaku from the get-go and really marshalled the side superbly. Man of the Match. 9/10
Marcos Rojo – Not the best first half from the Argentinian. He was getting torched all game and rightfully subbed at the half. 3/10
Morgan Schneiderlin – Won the midfield battle at a canter. Could have done more going forward though. 6/10
Michael Carrick – Far too many slack passes from the veteran, but alongside that he played some nice balls forward to get United going again. 6/10
Anthony Martial – Scored the all-important goal. His intelligence on the ball for such a young man is world class. 7/10
Jesse Lingard – Lively without really threatening. 5/10
Juan Mata – Typical Juan Mata. Anonymous at times, but was involved at the vital stage for the goal. 6/10
Marcus Rashford – His pace was a real threat, and he never stopped terrorising the Everton back line. 7/10
Subs:
Timothy Fosu-Mensah – Played superbly when brought on. Could well challenge for a regular spot if he keeps up like that.
Ander Herrera – Lively. Good to have him back.
Antonio Valencia – Not enough time to mark.
