Sergio Romero – Couldn’t really do anything about the Anderlecht goal. Played pretty well on the whole and claimed plenty of crosses. 6/10
Antonio Valencia – You could tell he was tiring and gave everything for the cause towards the end. Still put in a stellar performance. 7/10
Eric Bailly – Did alright. There were a few shaky moments, but on the whole he was in control of things. 6/10
Marcos Rojo – Had to be subbed off after banging his knee twice within a couple of minutes. Hopefully, it’s not too serious. 6/10
Luke Shaw – You could question his positioning for the Anderlecht goal, but credit to him for lasting the 120 minutes. He looked solid for the most part. 6/10
Michael Carrick – Pretty average. Some of his passing was uncharacteristically wayward and his age became telling as the game wore on. 4/10
Paul Pogba – Played a sublime ball into Rashford, and certainly got us moving in the right direction. One of his better performances in the United jersey. 7/10
Jesse Lingard – Should have scored after a brilliant Shaw run. Rightfully subbed shortly after. 4/10
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Scored the opener and started brightly. Faded in the middle, and drove United forward towards the end. 6/10
Marcus Rashford – Sublime. From minute one he was a constant thorn in their side. Caused problems with pace, trickery and sheer ability. Finally rewarded in the dying embers as he scored the winning goal. 8/10
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Had a very average first 45 and that continued in the second half. Subbed off with what looked like a horrific knee injury. His season could be done. 3/10
Subs:
Daley Blind – Came on for the injured Rojo, and didn’t have the finest of evenings. I’ve genuinely no idea what he was doing for Anderlecht’s equaliser.
Marouane Fellaini – Outstanding when he came on. Won his fair share of tackles and headers.
Anthony Martial – Came on at the start of extra-time, was anonymous in the first 15 but improved in the second.
