Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-0 West Brom

David de Gea – Wasn’t tested whatsoever. Distributed the ball nicely from his hands though. 6/10

Ashley Young – Not his finest hour. Gave the ball away way too many times and was sloppy in possession. 3/10

Chris Smalling – Seems to go from strength-to-strength. Once again excellent. 7/10

Daley Blind – Played well. Passed out from the back excellently but wasn’t tested defensively. 6/10

Marcos Rojo – Had a decent game, but perhaps could have offered more as an offensive weapon as WBA didn’t threaten. 6/10

Michael Carrick – For a player of his calibre he seemed to give away possession far too cheaply. 4/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger – Controlled the middle of the park with some excellent passes and tackles. Superb. 7/10

Juan Mata – Scored his penalty. Quiet putting that aside. 5/10

Jesse Lingard – Took his first Manchester United goal wonderfully well. Looked hungry and thats exactly what we need at the moment. Man of the Match. 8/10

Anthony Martial – Looked bright. Kept United moving in the right direction. 6/10

Wayne Rooney – Once again extremely poor. Didn’t really create any clear cut opportunities for himself. 4/10

Subs:

Phil Jones – Came on at right-back and did well.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson – Not really tested but looked solid on debut.

Ander Herrera  – Not enough time to mark.
