Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal – Fellaini wins it late

David de Gea – Didn’t really have an awful lot to do aside from picking the ball out of his net. 5/10

Antonio Valencia – He got forward quite often today, but his crossing let him down. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Aside from a slip in the second-half, he did his defensive duties well. I’d love to see more calmness when in possession, though. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Growing into his role as a Red Devil. He could be the long-term partner for Eric Bailly if his development continues. 6/10

Ashley Young – His passing was wayward and he didn’t get forward enough. 4/10

Nemanja Matic – Bossed the midfield with his tough-tackling and commanding presence. Probably United’s best player on the day. 7/10

Ander Herrera – For some reason, he kept going backwards when in possession. That’s unlike him. 5/10

Paul Pogba – Scored United’s opener and he looked like our most creative outlet throughout. 6/10

Jesse Lingard – Had a fairly quiet afternoon, although he was his usual busy self. 5/10

Alexis Sanchez – Worked his socks off as per usual. That final ball was lacking in quality today though. 5/10

Romelu Lukaku – Struggled to get into the game. Hopefully, his injury isn’t a serious one. 5/10

Subs:

Marcus Rashford – Worked hard, but he was pretty quiet when in possession.

Anthony Martial – Looked threatening down that left-hand side.

Marouane Fellaini – Scored the all-important winning goal. Was actually pretty good when he came on.
