Player Ratings: Manchester United 3-1 Aston Villa

David de Gea – Was extremely quiet, but made a mistake for Villa’s goal. 5

Antonio Valencia – Was allowed to bomb forward throughout. Terrorised the Villa back four. 7

Phil Jones – Dealt with the physicality of Benteke well. 6

Marcos Rojo – Great to see him back involved. His energy is unmatched amongst our back line. 6

Daley Blind – Professional, calm and on the whole very composed. 6

Michael Carrick – Typical Michael Carrick. He controlled the game from the middle of the park. 7

Marouane Fellaini – Should’ve scored in the second half. Kept it simple, but didn’t put his weight about as much. 6

Ander Herrera – Scored two well-taken goals and his passing game was on-point. Man of the Match. 9

Juan Mata – Kept it intricate and played some nice passes. 6

Ashley Young – Worried the Villa defence from minute one, and on the whole looked a threat. 7

Wayne Rooney – Scored a superb goal and led from the front. 8

Subs:

Angel di Maria – Provided an assist and did well on the whole.

Radamel Falcao – Worked hard.
