Player Ratings: Manchester United 3-1 Burnley

David de Gea – Wasn’t really tested but couldn’t do anything about the Burnley goal. His kicking was off. 6/10

Paddy McNair – Looked hungry, but needed a leader to guide him through a solid first half. Improved as the game went on. 6/10

Phil Jones – Went off injured after four minutes.

Jonny Evans – Nervous, rushed everything he did and struggled throughout. Very average. 4/10

Marcos Rojo – Not one of his finest games. Struggled to get forward from left-back, and gave the ball away far too often. 4/10

Daley Blind – Was calm and composed, subbed off through injury in the first half.

Wayne Rooney – Clearly not a central midfielder, and his positioning let him down on more than one occasion. 5/10

Angel di Maria – Had an awful first half, but made up for it with an assist and winning the penalty. 6/10

Adnan Januzaj – Showed flashes of brilliance, but wasn’t helped at all by his teammates. 5/10

Radamel Falcao – Looked sluggish, lacked any real threat and didn’t get on the ball anywhere near enough. 4/10

Robin van Persie – Held the ball up well but never looked a threat. Took his penalty nicely. 5/10

Subs:

Chris Smalling – Scored with his first kick and looked hungry for his second goal. Man of the Match. 8/10

Ander Herrera – Kept United moving forward and wasn’t afraid to run with the ball. Exactly what we have been missing. 7/10

James Wilson – Looked lively. Not enough time to mark,
