Player Ratings: Manchester United vs Club Brugge

Sergio Romero – Couldn’t do an awful lot about the Carrick own-goal. Didn’t have much else to do. 6/10

Matteo Darmian – Superb again. Didn’t give his man an inch whilst defending and looked a real threat going forward. 7/10

Chris Smalling – Continued to impress. Won absolutely everything. 8/10

Daley Blind – Played it out beautifully from the back. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Defensively sound and looked a handful in attack. Brilliant to see. 8/10

Michael Carrick – Started sloppily and conceded an own goal. Gave the ball away on occasion. 5/10

Morgan Schneiderlin – Mopped everything up and got United on the attack. Super. 7/10

Juan Mata – Fairly quiet. Linked up nicely with Januzaj on occasion but expected more from the clever Spaniard. 6/10

Adnan Januzaj – Looked dangerous and wasn’t afraid to have a go at the Brugge defence. 7/10

Memphis Depay – Memphis has well and truly arrived. Scored two beautiful goals and should’ve had a third. Layed on an easy assist for Fellaini too.

Wayne Rooney – Worked hard but once again lacked any real threat. Must do better. 5/10

Subs:

Bastian Schweinsteiger – Controlled the midfield beautifully.

Javier Hernandez – Looked lively.

Marouane Fellaini – Took his goal superbly.
