Player Ratings: QPR vs. United

United extended their games without defeat streak to 15 with a somewhat comfortable 2-0 win over Harry Redknapp’s struggling QPR side. Rafael scored a first half scorcher, and the evergreen Ryan Giggs scored a second to ensure all three points were coming back to Old Trafford.

Although we didn’t play to our full capabilities we do what we’ve been accustomed to from United teams down the years; win when we aren’t playing well. The margin is seemingly getting greater on a weekly basis but we need to keep the pressure on and wrap up the title as quick as possible, which will hopefully allow us to turn our attention to the cup competitions.

Player ratings:

De Gea – Continued his starting streak with a decent performance. Made some good saves when called upon. 7/10

Rafael – I don’t think he’ll ever score a better goal in his life, what a screamer! Made some nice passes and crucial interceptions. Clear Man of the Match. 9/10

Nemanja Vidic – The first time he has played back to back games since his return. Solid as a rock. 7/10

Rio Ferdinand – Played well when tested like Nemanja, although QPR didn’t offer an awful lot. 6/10

Patrice Evra – Had a quiet but effective game like the rest of the back four. 6/10

Nani – Failed to set the game alight but tracked back often. 6/10

Michael Carrick – He controlled the midfield, continuing his good form. 7/10

Ryan Giggs – Scored the goal that sealed the win, although i’m certain he’s a better winger than central midfielder. 6/10

Ashley Young – Worked hard and tracked back, played a nice ball into the box early on but offered little afterwards. 6/10

Robin van Persie – Played well up until his substitution due to injury. 6/10

Javier Hernandez – Looked lively, made the most of a half-chance and managed to get his header on target. 6/10

Subs:

Danny Welbeck – Worked hard as always, won the ball back as we went on to score the second. 6/10

Wayne Rooney – Coming back from injury and played ok. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Still struggling for some decent form. 6/10
