Player Ratings: Scintillating Sanchez & rampant Romelu as Man United beat Swansea

David de Gea – Made two incredible saves to preserve his clean sheet. His distribution was pretty accurate today, too… 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Was solid defensively, but I’d love to see him bomb down that right-hand side just a little bit more. 5/10

Chris Smalling – There were one or two nervy moments, but on the whole, he was pretty decent. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – By far and away his most complete performance. He looked confident and commanded the back line. 7/10

Ashley Young – If you had any doubts as to why Luke Shaw hasn’t been playing, there is your answer. Young was magnificent again today. 6/10

Nemanja Matic – The Serbia star is just magnificent, isn’t he? Matic wins possession so many times, giving us an opportunity to get forward more. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Today was certainly one of his better games. His range of passing and on-ball ability is insanely high, he just needs to show his skills more often. 7/10

Jesse Lingard – As per usual, Lingard was a joy to watch. His movement and passing is wonderful, and his ball into Sanchez for his goal was inch-perfect. 7/10

Juan Mata – Drifted in and out of proceedings, but when he plays, the team as a whole just performs miles better. 6/10

Alexis Sanchez – He was great today. He worked his socks off, won the ball back on numerous occasions and looked a threat offensively. Took his goal wonderfully well. 8/10

Romelu Lukaku – Well, the 100 is up for big Romelu. The forward scored early, and did his utmost to drive his side forward. It’s a bold shout, but he’s a future captain in the making. 7/10

Subs:

Marcus Rashford – Looked lively.

Ander Herrera – Nice to see him back involved after injury.

Scott McTominay – Not enough time to mark.
