Player Ratings: Southampton 1-1 Man United (2019 Premier League)

David de Gea – Didn’t really have an awful lot to do – except pick the ball out the back of his net… 5/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Pretty good. Won some tackles and tried to get forward where possible. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Shaky today. He wasn’t comfortable with the ball at his feet and lost an all-important header. 4/10

Harry Maguire – Did his best to move the team further up the field. Played some nice passes through the lines. 6/10

Ashley Young – Actually, I thought he did okay on both sides of the ball. 6/10

Scott McTominay – Was great in midfield in the first half. Won tackles, played the right ball and got forward. Faded out before eventually being subbed. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Just not good enough. He was so sloppy in possession and gave it away far too often. Improved when Southampton went down to 10, but we need more. 4/10

Andreas Pereira – Quiet. Worked hard enough but does he have the quality? I’m not so sure. 4/10

Juan Mata – Played some nice passes and made some decent runs, but didn’t really do enough. 5/10

Daniel James – Had an excellent outing. Scored a corker, looked a real threat and did his defensive work, too. 8/10

Marcus Rashford – Pretty poor. Couldn’t get into the game and had several chances to get on the end of crosses. 4/10

Subs:

Jesse Lingard – Made some nice runs in the channel, but the final pass or shot wasn’t good enough.

Nemanja Matic – I didn’t understand the sub. He was poor on the ball.

Mason Greenwood – Looked lively. Not enough time to mark.
