David de Gea – Wasn’t really called upon that often today, but did the basic things well. 7/10
Antonio Valencia – Didn’t threaten that often when going forward, looked tired as the first-half went on. 5/10
Phil Jones – United’s best defender on the day, and controlled the back line very well for a young player. 7/10
Paddy McNair – Looked nervous, but grew into the game as it went on. 6/10
Jonny Evans – Evans always seems to bring panic to the United back line, and that was no different today. Not his best afternoon. 5/10
Ashley Young – Defended very well when Spurs were coming forward and always looked a threat when on the attack. It’ll be hard for Shaw to displace him in the team at the moment. 8/10
Michael Carrick – Played some wonderful balls into the strikers, and did the simple thing every well. 6/10
Wayne Rooney – Our skipper had a fairly quiet afternoon. Hopefully he’ll be back to his best against Stoke. 5/10
Juan Mata – Looked great in the first half, but faded during the second. 6/10
Radamel Falcao – Struggled in front of goal, but got himself into some good positions. 5/10
Robin van Persie – As you’d expect he held the ball up well, but didn’t really threaten the Spurs goal. 5/10
Substitutes:
Rafael da Silva – Did alright, particularly after a long spell out.
Chris Smalling – Came in and looked strong. Hopefully he’ll be fit enough to start in place of Evans against Stoke.
Luke Shaw – Great to see him back in action. Hopefully he can stay fit this time.
