Player Ratings: Stoke 0-2 United

David de Gea – Nothing to do. Distribution poor tonight though. 5/10

Rafael – Back to his best. Bombed forward and linked up well with Valencia. 7/10

Jonny Evans – Solid, and didn’t give Peter Crouch anything. Won key headers and passed the ball forward. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Had little to do but did it well. Won a few headers, and put in some good blocks. 6/10

Patrice Evra – Scored a pearler of a goal with his weaker foot. Got forward whenever possible and did well defensively. 7/10

Phil Jones – Kept the ball moving and broke up play when needed. 6/10

Anderson – Looked like he lacked match sharpness. Some simple passes went wayward but at least he tried to carry the ball. 5/10

Tom Cleverley – Another excellent game from Tom. He picked the right passes and started off the attacks. Superb. 7/10

Antonio Valencia – Linked up well with Rafa, but struggled to put a decent ball into the box. 5/10

Ashley Young – His best game in a very long time. His goal was absolutely superb, and grew in confidence afterwards. Also added an assist. Man of the Match. 8/10

Danny Welbeck – Held the ball up well in tricky conditions. Never looked like scoring though. 6/10

Subs:

Javier Hernandez – Didn’t score but made a positive impact on the game. 6/10

Darren Fletcher – Great to see him back, but not enough time to mark.
