Player Ratings: Sublime Young & Classy Lingard as United brush Watford aside

David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about either goal. Untested putting that aside. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Had a decent evening defensively. In a 5-3-2, he has to get forward more often. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – The young man put in another commanding defensive performance. Seems to be growing in confidence following the international break. 7/10

Chris Smalling – Did well. Stuck to the task at hand and helped his team grind out a result. 6/10

Marcos Rojo – Looked like a player who’s barely kicked a ball since April at times. Gave away the penalty. 4/10

Nemanja Matic – Started slowly but improved shortly after. Unfortunately, he was subbed off with an injury early in the second half. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Showed glimpses of his talents and abilities. Drifted in and out of the game, though. 6/10

Jesse Lingard – Just sensational. He scored the goal that sealed the win and troubled the Watford defenders from that #10 role. 7/10

Anthony Martial – Just outstanding. Took his goal wonderfully well and always looked menacing. 7/10

Romelu Lukaku – His confidence looks shot right now, and that was summed up as he missed a glaring opportunity in the second half. 4/10

Ander Herrera – Won a few key tackles.

Marcus Rashford – Tried to stretch the defence with his pace.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Barely touched the ball.
