David de Gea – The Spaniard made a few decent saves to stop it from getting even more embarrassing for United. 6/10
Timothy Fosu-Mensah – The bright spark on the day. Fosu-Mensah defended like a warrior throughout, until being forced off through injury. 7/10
Chris Smalling – One of his poorer games this season. Got caught out too many times. 4/10
Daley Blind – Looked lost during the second half, and completely out of place as a centre-back. Allowed the Spurs forwards way too much time on the ball. 4/10
Marcos Rojo – Awful. Was out of position more often than not, didn’t win anything in the air and his passing was wayward. 2/10
Morgan Schneiderlin – Commanded the middle of the park in the first half, but was poor and got overrun in the second. 5/10
Michael Carrick – His legs have completely gone, and his passing wasn’t good enough for the majority. 4/10
Anthony Martial – Ran at the Spurs defence on occasion and looked threatening, but didn’t get any help. 6/10
Jesse Lingard – Poor. His footballing intelligence isn’t anywhere near good enough to play as a #10. More suited to the wing. 4/10
Juan Mata – Didn’t get involved anywhere near enough to have any sort of influence. 3/10
Marcus Rashford – Kept running throughout, but didn’t do anything of any real purpose. 4/10
Subs:
Ashley Young – Nice to see him back, but not as a striker.
Matteo Darmian – Looked laboured and partly at fault for Spurs’ opener.
Memphis Depay – Nothing of note, apart from a scrap with Kyle Walker.
