Sergio Romero – Made a couple of decent saves to keep Swansea City at bay. Played well. 6/10
Matteo Darmian – Put in a peach of a cross for Jesse Lingard’s second goal. Had a good evening. 6/10
Chris Smalling – Marshalled the back line well, which is no less than you’d expect from an experienced centre-half. 6/10
Victor Lindelof – Still looked nervous. He’s going to need time to fully adjust to life at Manchester United. 5/10
Axel Tuanzebe – Wonderful. He defended excellently, won headers and passed out calmly. 7/10
Daley Blind – Average. Played some nice passes forward. 5/10
Ander Herrera – His passing was sloppy, although that didn’t stop him from making some great bursting runs forward. 5/10
Scott McTominay – The competitive stage doesn’t phase him. He’s physical, great on the ball and quite mobile. A good performance. 7/10
Jesse Lingard – Absolutely brilliant. Shown class and composure for his first goal, then an instinctive headed finish for his second. 8/10
Anthony Martial – Quiet. He’s not in the best of form at the moment, which is a shame. He hasn’t taken his opportunities despite starting the last few games. 5/10
Marcus Rashford – Played a huge part in United’s opener, playing Lingard through with a lovely little flick. 6/10
Subs:
Nemanja Matic – Brought on to secure the victory.
Romelu Lukaku – Didn’t really get any opportunities to score.
Luke Shaw – given a token five minutes.
