Following last weeks defeat in the Manchester Derby, United returned to Old Trafford in hunt of victory for the first time in four games. Crystal Palace were the opponents and a United sealed a 1-0 victory in a fairly uninspiring performance. Heres how the boys rated
David de Gea: Good distribution from the Spaniard who had little else to do. 6/10
Antonio Valencia: Not the same player we once saw, but he did ok defensively against the sporadic Crystal Palace attacks. 5/10
Paddy McNair: The youngster defended well and looked comfortable throughout. 6/10
Daley Blind: Started at centre back and did will. Moved into midfield in the latter stages. Defended well and moved the ball out of defence nicely. 7/10
Luke Shaw: Energy and pace going forward as well as being defensively sound at the back. Had a chance to score in the first half following a surging run but his effort was well saved. 7/10.
Michael Carrick: Efficient in the middle and protected the back 4. Has done well since his return from injury. Dropped to centre back late on. 6/10
Adnan Januzaj: Played on the right. Saw a lot of the ball but couldn’t create any clear cut chances. 5/10
Marouanne Fellaini: Did well once again and certainly seems to have finally found his feet at Old Trafford. 6/10
Wayne Rooney: Played deep once again but didn’t impress me much today. Didn’t influence the game as much as you’d want from the Captain. 5/10
Angel di Maria: Some dangerous runs but some poor deliveries from the £60m man. (Especially from Corner Kicks) 6/10
Robin van Persie: Still not the fully firing Dutchman that we have been used to seeing over the last few seasons. Poor service to him though. 5/10
Substitutes
Juan Mata: Replaced Januzaj on the right. Not his favoured position but managed to bag the winner with a fine strike from outside of the box. Hit the post also. 6/10
James Wilson: The young striker came on and added some energy up front but didn’t have any chances of note. 6/10
Darren Fletcher: Replaced McNair for the closing minutes but little time to mark.
