David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about the equaliser, but made some smart saves when tested. 6/10
Rafael – Bombed forward at every opportunity which is something we’ve missed recently. Solid defensively. 6/10
Jonny Evans – Played well throughout. Gave Southampton no clear cut chances. 6/10
Phil Jones – He should be starting every week at centre-back. He’s a warrior and isn’t afraid to put his head in where it hurts. Centre-back definitely his best position. 7/10
Patrice Evra – Out of position far too often, didn’t get enough tackles in and didn’t run beyond Adnan Januzaj enough. 4/10
Michael Carrick – Picked his passes, kept the ball moving and kept United moving forward. 6/10
Marouane Fellaini – Had an absolute nightmare. Allowed his man to run beyond him too easily, and he didn’t win anywhere near enough headers against significantly smaller opponents. 4/10
Nani – Will probably be made the scapegoat once again. I thought he did well going forward and created a few decent chances. Needs to track back more though. 6/10
Wayne Rooney – He wasn’t at the races today but still worked his socks off. Probably should’ve scored from ten yards out but smacked the ball off the crossbar. 5/10
Adnan Januzaj – Our best player by a country mile. Carved Southampton open on more than one occasion, kept the ball moving, and wanted to get forward. Man of the Match. 7/10
Robin van Persie – He looked tired and not fully fit. He struggled to get into the game besides from his goal. Probably should’ve been subbed off after an hour. 5/10
Subs:
Ryan Giggs – He struggled to keep hold of the ball when brought on and often beaten in the air which cost us eventually. 4/10
Danny Welbeck – Should’ve played Rooney in which would’ve killed the game off. 5/10
Chris Smalling – Won a few headers, but not enough time to mark.
