Player Ratings: United lose 1-0 to Juve, Lindelof’s best performance, Lukaku dreadful

David de Gea – It could have been embarrassing without him in between the sticks. He made some great saves, the second-half stop to deny Cristiano Ronaldo the best. 8/10

Ashley Young – Thought he was pretty solid, for the most part. Although his ability in the final third was disappointing. 5/10

Chris Smalling – Dealt with the Juve threat pretty well. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Easily United’s best outfield player. He stopped so many Juve chances due to his excellent footballing brain. It was a performance that he has to build upon. 8/10

Luke Shaw – Not bad for the most part, although at times, his positioning was pretty awful. 5/10

Nemanja Matic – Was just a bystander at times. He’s supposed to be the base of our midfield, but Juve ran rings around him. 3/10

Paul Pogba – Showed glimpses of his insane ability, but he just doesn’t have the players around him who are on the same wavelength. 6/10

Juan Mata – Drifted in and out of the game, but when there is so little movement around you, it’s hard to create chances. 5/10

Anthony Martial – Just wasn’t his night. I don’t think he beat his man once, his crossing was poor and he just didn’t get into the action enough. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Pretty much the same as Martial. Just didn’t get into the game. 4/10

Romelu Lukaku- Awful. The ball was bouncing off him, his hold-up play was shockingly bad. Another night to forget. 3/10
