Player Ratings: WBA 2-2 Manchester United

David de Gea – Helpless with both goals. Apart from that he was largely untested. 6/10

Rafael – Bombed forward throughout, but was caught napping for Berahino’s goal which gave WBA the lead midway through the second half. 4/10

Phil Jones – You could tell it was his first game back from injury. he looked a yard off the pace throughout. The 90 minutes will do him good though. 4/10

Marcos Rojo – Very rash at times. Sometimes dives in when it isn’t necessary, and couldn’t deal with the threat of Berahino and Sessengon. 4/10

Luke Shaw – He had a quiet first half but a much better second. Still has to get used to playing in Louis van Gaal’s new-look system. 5/10

Daley Blind – United’s best player by a comfortable margin. He kept his composure and kept picking the right passes. He got stuck in when needed, and took his goal superbly. 8/10

Ander Herrera – Looked unfit. He couldn’t find a red shirt towards the end of the first half. Rightfully subbed off at halftime. 4/10

Juan Mata – Woeful. You expect more from a senior player with as much ability as Mata has. He was nonexistent for 90 minutes once again. 3/10

Adnan Januzaj – Another very quiet performance. He struggled to impose his game out on the right-wing, hopefully thats down to match sharpness rather than talent. 4/10

Angel Di Maria – Our Argentine made a fast start to the game, and put in some dangerous crosses. However he faded in the second, and hopefully his injury isn’t serious. 6/10

Robin van Persie – Poor for a player of his ability. You expect him to lead from the front, especially when wearing the captains armband. He did next to nothing. 4/10

Subs:

Marouane Fellaini – Took his goal excellently. Once again did a lot to silence his doubters and could well start against Chelsea at the weekend.

Radamel Falcao – Threw his weight around and won some aerial duels. Didn’t have time to do much else.

Ashley Young – Not enough time to mark.
