David de Gea – Made a couple of smart saves. Readers beware, it only gets worse from here… 6/10
Matteo Darmian – He’s just not very good, at all… Positionally poor, defensively poor and offers nothing going forward in attack. 3/10
Chris Smalling – Could’ve commanded the back four better. 4/10
Marcos Rojo – He’s not played in a while and the lack of match sharpness was obvious. 4/10
Ashley Young – Pretty shambolic when going backwards. He has no positional sense whatsoever. 3/10
Nemanja Matic – Didn’t stamp his authority on the game as he usually does. 4/10
Marouane Fellaini – Struggles to play the easy ball. He’s a decent back-up option, but as a starter, he’s just not good enough. 2/10
Paul Pogba – Manchester United need better from their key player. It’s frustrating when he doesn’t turn up, because he’s so immensely gifted. 3/10
Juan Mata – Uncharacteristically, he gave it away far too often. He just couldn’t get it going. 4/10
Anthony Martial – Got into some threatening positions in the first 45. Got worse in the second-half. 4/10
Marcus Rashford – He wasn’t good, and he did his FA Cup final aspirations nothing but harm. 3/10
Subs:
Luke Shaw – Looked pretty good, particularly when on the attack.
Jesse Lingard – Worked his socks off, created a couple of decent chances.
Scott McTominay – Didn’t really influence the game.
