Machester United have had a rather busy start to the transfer window, as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster the playing squad.
Now, another deal could be close, according to the usually excellent Duncan Castles (per 101 Great Goals). The journalist is saying that Juventus left-back, Alex Sandro, has agreed upon personal terms with United, with the Brazil star wanting a move to Old Trafford.
Apparently, the 28-year-old is set to agree a €5million-a-year deal with the Red Devils, but Juventus and United will still have to agree upon a transfer fee; which is obviously the most vital component in any transfer.
Since Mourinho’s arrival, left-back has been the problem area. Ashley Youg has been adequate, but nothing more than that. Luke Shaw often injured, or largely remaining on the periphery.
It’s clear that either are not the long-term solution. Although Sandro is hardly young at 28, he’ll slot in seamlessly and play week-in-week-out, giving the manager one less problem to ponder over.
Whatever the cost, just pay it, get the deal done. Last season, Manchester City proved just how vital it is to have two world-class full-backs, signing Sandro would be an excellent start, and it’d certainly get us closer to our cross-town rivals.
