Potential Man United starting XI if Dybala, Maguire & Fernandes are signed

Manchester United had a top-drawer start to the transfer window, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signing a couple of quality players while also tying key names down to new contracts.

On pre-season tour the lads have looked brilliant, but it’s clear more work needs to be done. Over the last 24 hours, three transfer rumours in particular have started to pick up real pace for United; those being Paulo Dybala, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.

With that in mind, we’ve drawn up a possible starting line-up with all those signings included.

Please note that this is just a potential XI, nothing is confirmed in regards to Dybala, Maguire or Fernandes at this stage. We just think it’s fun for our readers.

As you can see, things look much more solid from the get-go. This is before you factor in top talents like Daniel James, Mason Greenwood and high-earners like Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata. The squad would suddenly look a whole lot better.

Dybala oozes class and his creativity would help this squad endlessly due to his ability to carve out openings and stick the ball into the back of the net.

Then you have Maguire’s defensive solidity. Victor Lindelof has come on leaps and bounds over the last twelve months, now it’s about finding him the ideal partner.

As for Fernandes, he directly contributed to 50 goals in the 2018/19 campaign, scoring 32 himself, from midfield! What’s not to like? Sure, it may take him time to adjust, but again, the quality is there.

What’s equally as important as signing players is ensuring that some guys are sold to offset costs and thin the squad. I’m looking predominantly at Matteo Darmian, Romelu Lukaku (he’d likely be involved in a Dybala swap), Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
