Pre-contract agreed, Man United to lose key player on a free transfer: report

Manchester United still have a couple of key players who are out of contract this summer. Amongst those is Ander Herrera.

Now, we’ve been given another update in regard’s to the 29-year-old’s future and unfortunately, it doesn’t look good. According to the usually reliable Duncan Castles in the Daily Record, it is being claimed that Herrera is set to leave United on a free.

Castles writes that Herrera has agreed a pre-contract with Paris Saint-Germain after being left unimpressed as United’s long-term contract offer.

This just sums up United at the moment. The club is seemingly willing to give new deals to players like Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, while we’re not prepared to offer suitable wages to the players who really deserve it.

At the end of the day, Herrera has ambition. He’s a player who wants to win major honours and at this juncture, United just cannot guarantee that whereas a move to Paris Saint-Germain would.

It’d be a shame to see Herrera leave because he really makes our midfield tick. It gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer one more problem to worry about going into the summer, which is unfortunately the last thing we need…
