After last years disappointing Champions League campaign that ended in elimination from the competition at the Group stage. This time round, United have already confirmed their place in the last 16 draw and as group winners after 4 wins out of 4. Sir Alex has taken the opportunity to rest key men for the journey to Turkey for the clash against Galatasaray. Welcome to Hell.
With Phil Jones on the comeback from his injury, it is expected that the United #4 will take his place in the United line-up for the first time this season. It is a chance for some of the players on the fringes of the squad to get some game time as several of United’s big guns, including de Gea, Rooney, Van Persie and Ferdinand all have been left at home.
It is also a fantastic opportunity for some of our hot prospects from our Academy to get some game time in the UEFA Champions League. Personally, I would love to see King, Powell, and Tunnicliffe get some game time.
Jordan’s XI: Lindegaard; Rafael, Jones, Wooton, Buttner; Fletcher, Cleverley, Powell, Anderson; Welbeck, Hernandez.
Ben’s XI: Lindegaard; Rafael, Jones, Carrick, Buttner; Anderson, Fletcher Powell; Young, Welbeck, King.
Feel free to send us your predicted lineups.
