Predicted Man United XI vs Colchester (Carabao Cup 2019)

Manchester United have a chance to make it into a cup semi-final this evening – when they host Colchester United in the Carabao Cup last eight.

The Red Devils have been hit and miss this term. Brilliant results against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have been offset with average displays against average opposition. Tonight, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men must do better.

Old Trafford plays host to the League Two club, with Solskjaer having several team news decisions to make. For me, we’ll see a nice blend of youth and experience. Let’s get straight into the Man United predicted starting XI vs Colchester:

The ever-reliable Sergio Romero will come back into the team as he looks to continue his impressive record in cup competitions.

Ashley Young will captain the side from the right-back slot, with Brandon Williams starting over on the left. Victor Lindelof will start alongside Axel Tuanzebe – allowing Harry Maguire some much-needed rest.

Nemanja Matic will play as he looks to build up those all-important fitness levels. He’ll play alongside James Garner, who was very impressive against AZ Alkmaar last midweek.

Juan Mata starts in the #10 role, with Daniel James to his left and Mason Greenwood over on the right. Anthony Martial leads the line and he’ll be hungry to snatch himself a goal or two.
